A Divided City is a documentary short film about Atlanta’s history of division and how physical and invisible borders permeate the city in the modern day. The film digs into Atlanta’s history at the center of the Civil Rights Movement and draws throughlines to the Cityhood movement, a movement which has inspired the incorporation of suburban Atlanta muplicities which can govern themselves and their enormous tax bases autonomously. The film earned us a National Student Emmy for Best Non-Fiction Short and was selected as the Best Documentary at the All American High School Film Festival in 2021.
