And Again is a narrative short film that takes the on the literary concept of queer time and places it in a cinematic format, telling the story of Lucien (played by Connor Carp) through nonlinear fragments.
I served as producer for the 35-minute film, managing a team of more than 25 student filmmakers through the entirety of the project, which was shot over the course of a year. And Again is undoubtly the most ambitious film project that I have ever worked on due to the demands of the script (length, characters, locations, time period considerations) and the many logistical difficulties of planning and shooting more than 60 scenes across Sundays.
The project pushed me to creative problem solve in new and unexpected ways and reinforced my love for all the scrappiness of zero-budget filmmaking. Along with my role as a producer, I also served as our single person marketing and event team, running our social media across channels and planning and marketing a premiere event on campus that drew more than 350 viewers. Crafting the premiere experience allowed me to experiment across mediums to create merchandise to raise money to submit to film festivals. I was able to work in the design studio to silk screen tote bags and custom tshirts, as well as create unique temporary tattoos and print large format posters.
