A Divided City is a documentary short film about Atlanta’s history of division and how those borders (both invisible and physical) permeate the city in the modern day. The film digs into Atlanta’s history at the center of the Civil Rights Movement and draws throughlines to the more recent Cityhood movement, which has drawn national attention for modernizing what was formerly known as “White Flight” from the city of Atlanta in favor of more homogeneous subburb-cities which can govern themselves and their enormous tax bases autonomously.
